Choice not need

JewishChoice is an elderly care campus in North West London providing residential, respite and dementia care within a wonderful ‘home from home’ environment. We have been providing exceptionally high levels of care to the Jewish community for over 200 years.

Core to our approach is the belief in ‘choice not need’ – the idea that our home is a place elderly people and their families will want to live in, rather than because they have no other choice. The excellent facilities that we provide within a nurturing Jewish environment make us the ideal and reassuring choice for yourself or a loved one.

Flexible choices

At Choice House, described as North London’s “hidden gem” care home, we want our residents to remain as independent as possible for as long as they can, which means giving real choice at all times. We are flexible in length of stay, whether it be for short-term respite care or longer-term residential care.

And because there isn’t a one size fits all approach to people, we provide care that is tailored to individual needs and preferences. From food preferences, to the way residents like to be addressed, to the wide range of activities available to participate in, we are always adaptable and accommodating.

Religious choice

Choice House is a kosher home under the auspices of the Sephardi Kashrut Authority but residents are free to be as religiously observant or inactive as they wish and are comfortable with. We observe Shabbat and celebrate all the major Chagim, with the traditions of the festivals often being highlights of our annual calendar. The Jewish spirit is always evident but we are non-judgemental and never impose.

Independent choice

As an independently run organisation – with full charitable status – we’re efficient and responsive, which enables us to remain competitive in our fees and to provide excellent value. Residents and relatives have direct access to the senior management team, who are based on site and can therefore act quickly.

We have excellent facilities throughout our campus and continue to invest in our offering. All bedrooms are well furnished with a number having en-suites and we have four separate lounges to provide a variety of environments for residents to enjoy.

Choice for loved ones

Choice House welcomes visits from residents’ family and friends and even encourages them to participate in on-campus activities.

Next door, Choice Court offers on-site accommodation where elderly partners or individuals who are not yet ready for residential care can live and benefit from adjacent facilities. For several of our residents, this provides the opportunity to remain close to their loved one residing at Choice House.

Community choice

The on-campus Choice Friendship Club is a community hub providing a range of services, activities and trips for residents at Choice House and Choice Court, as well as for the surrounding Jewish area. The Choice Friendship Club is a valuable asset to the local community and provides a range of optional activities and trips out on the Choice Bus.
